O’Show tops BSB Snetterton Test | We give you the whole operation
Check out BSB 2022
Jason O’Halloran was building momentum for 2022 at Snetterton over the weekend as the entire British Superbike Championship took part in the three-day official test at Norfolk circuit.
The opening action of the new season kicked off at a furious pace at the top as the top six drivers finished the test in the existing lap record. O’Halloran’s benchmark lap from the last session was an impressive 0.572s according to the existing record, with five manufacturers in the top 10. These were three critical days of testing as the BSB had strict limits in place. for pre-season testing and beyond the official tests, there was little opportunity for drivers and teams to shake their machines.
O’Halloran won more races than anyone in the 2021 season only to lose his lead in the championship when the series goes into Showdown mode, he’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again on year 2022.

“The first test of the year was done and it was a really good couple of days for us, the weather was perfect so we had a lot of monitoring time. I’ve tried so many different versions of the bike here, at least one can be two per session, this is the perfect one for information and data. To go fast to the end is good, I also made a pretty big mistake on the fast lap, but more important than testing is to get the information and feel and I am very happy with what we have achieved. . The whole team did an excellent job and I’m looking forward to the next test.”
Tom Sykes adapted to MCE Ducati quickly on his first visit to the Snetterton 300 layout, as the former World Superbike champion finished his first test with the team just 0.072 seconds ahead of a lead time. head.

“The third day at Snutterton, the weather started to get a little rough so we missed our first class this morning, but we were only going to do one today anyway. We used it just to try a few things and understand the package a little better, but overall, it was a really positive three-day trial. We got lucky with the weather, everything seemed to go according to plan, and now I understand quite a lot more. Now we need to see where we need to improve and continue to work. We have the next test at Donington Park on Thursday but looking at the forecast it doesn’t look like we’ll get much of a blessing there, but the season is fast approaching and after these three days I’m sure. feel more prepared. The main thing is to understand where we need to improve. Ducati has a lot of areas of strength and I know there are also areas to work on and so I’m off to a positive start on this test in that respect.. ”
Bradley Ray did his best until the final part of the three-day test as he continued to prepare for the new season after changing manufacturers and he placed Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha in third place.
Doubles champion Josh Brookes was back in last place, holding on to fourth as he was below the lap record on his return to the lap and was just 0.115 seconds past the timesheet. Team MCE Ducati chose to sit out the final session of the weekend with both riders in the top four, as they bid for their ninth Championship title.

“We had a great test at Snetterton, the weather was unbelievable for the year and we managed to work out some of the key points. Today is very important to end the round of change. The practice we did was not particularly important in terms of the lap time we were able to achieve, but the feeling I got from the bike. I’m happy with yesterday’s bike, we’re on a lap record and I was able to pass the race time, today’s bike is harder to ride, so that helps everyone in the team know the way to go and I think going forward we can make some good progress. A big thank you to my team and crew who made a huge difference this weekend and we can’t wait to see what Donington has to offer us next week.. ”
FS-3 Racing Kawasaki’s Rory Skinner topped the penultimate session of the weekend as he set his personal best lap at the Norfolk circuit. The Scot couldn’t get better in the final run of the day, but finished in the top five ahead of next week’s Official R&G Test at Donington Park.
Danny Buchan is sixth fastest for the SYNETIQ BMW team; he was the pace setter in the early stages of the Official Test, with his best lap coming from the opening day of the action.
Defending champion Tarran Mackenzie returned to action with a number one title for the first time in 2022, and as he returned from a pre-season training injury. He set the seventh fastest time, just 0.013 seconds behind the existing lap record of McAMS Yamaha.
Peter Hickman was the leading BMW FHO Racing driver in eighth place as he held out Buildbase Suzuki’s Danny Kent. Tommy Bridewell finished the top 10 for the Oxford Products Racing Ducati team.
As the starting time dropped, just 0.995 seconds covered the top 15 with Andrew Irwin, Lee Jackson and Kyle Ryde just outside the top 10. 2018 champion Leon Haslam finished 17th fastest as he continues to work with its new VisionTrack Kawasaki team.
The Supercar category was led by Tim Neave on Edwards Yamaha ahead of Alex Olsen on FHO Racing BMW. Joe Francis was third fastest on Stauff Fluid Kawasaki while Billy McConnell topped four different brands with P4 on Jackson Racing Honda.
Levi Day was 13th in the Fastest Supercar race on Powerslide Racing Suzuki while fellow countryman Brayden Elliott was P15 on CFS Filtration No Bull Honda.
Jack Kennedy topped the Supersport tournament on Mar-Train Yamaha while Jamie Van Sikkelerus and Harry Truelove made the top three of both Yamaha. Kiwi Damon Rees was eighth fastest on an Ashcourt Yamaha as he was trying to get back fit after significant arm injuries.
Max Cook topped the leaderboard in his National Junior Suposystem class ahead of Louis Valleley. Young Aussies Seth Crump and Jacob Hatch finished 8th and 13th respectively. Crump was 1.5 seconds behind the fastest driver while Jacob Hatch was one second behind.
