Oracle and Cerner begin merger process worth $28.4 billion


Oracle and Cerner have begun integrating the two companies’ systems four months after completing a $28.4 billion merger.

After the merger was completed in June, Oracle co-founder, chairman of the board and chief technology officer Larry Ellison outlined his plans for the combined venture. He said Oracle is building a national database of medical records so that doctors can access patient information more easily.
