Ride-hailing bus service Kumpool Ride has announced that it is changing its name to Kummute, and the rebrand will also see the brand revamp its look and offer “more convenient ways to get around,” although it hasn’t detailed what those ways will be. The rebrand was highlighted in an update made to Apple App Store And Google Play application page
To recap, the on-demand “bus” program — using minivans for service — has already started in Johor Bahru, but in 2022 Available in Klang Valleyfirst in Subang Jaya and then in Petaling Jaya. Kumpool, or Kummute, operates as an on-demand shuttle service, first collecting passengers’ booking information in real time and then traveling an optimized route based on people’s pick-up and drop-off points.
The service is accessible through a dedicated app, where customers have to select their pick-up and drop-off locations before booking a ride. After booking, users will be given a digital ticket with a QR code and must arrive at the selected pick-up point at least 10-15 minutes in advance and wait for the ride to arrive.
Since its launch in the Klang Valley, Kummute has transformed from a standalone service to a Working with Rapid KLprovide LRT users with the last mile, “Shipping on demand” Shuttle bus solution.
The service aims to improve access to public transport by addressing common problems with traditional bus systems, including a lack of bus stops and often inconsistent service frequency. Kummute is also useful if you don’t want to deal with the stress of driving in traffic or finding parking in crowded spots.
