The Indian boxing team went to the Games Village here on Sunday night after training in Ireland but Lovlina’s personal trainer Sandhya Gurung could not enter the Village because she was not recognized. Lovlina, presumably, wanted her personal trainer Amey Kolekar with her on the CWG but he didn’t make the long list. The pugilist girl expressed her anger in a lengthy twitter post.

Lovlina alleges that she suffered similar treatment before the world championships in Istanbul and that she fears that something similar will happen at the upcoming Birmingham Olympics.
“I don’t understand how I’m going to focus on the Games (CWG) in the midst of all of this? My world championship is also affected because of this. I don’t want my CWG to be affected because of this. I hope I will overcome this politics and win a medal for my country. Jai Hind,” she wrote.
The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) says the accreditation process is being managed by the Olympic Association of India (IOA) and hopes the issue will be resolved soon.
“IOA and BFI are working hard to get Sandhya recognized continuously. It is in the hands of IOA but it will come today or tomorrow.
“We came up with all the names from before but there was a quota system. Based on the number of qualified athletes, there was 25% quota. So we had four officials, including the coach. trainers, doctors, etc,” BFI secretary Hemanta Kalita told PTI.
“We asked for the IOA and they increased the quota to eight. Four people will stay in the village and four have to stay outside, they can enter the village and spend the day but at night they have to go out,” Kalita added. .
The other trainer Lovlina is talking about is her strength and conditioning coach, Amey Kolekar, who is also her personal trainer. His name is not on the long list. Kolekar was with her in Ireland.
Team India already has a strength and conditioning coach who will help the athletes race in the Olympics.
Meanwhile, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) said it would try to reach a proper solution.
