Getty ivyThe billionaire heiress to the Getty oil corporation will divorce her photographer husband Tobias Engel. Page Six was first to report the news of the split.
According to court documents obtained from Vanity fairGetty filed for divorce in New York in January 2024, and court documents classified the divorce as “contested,” meaning the two did not reconcile their separation before Getty apply for.
The duo married in a private ceremony in December 2020, then in November 2021 threw a lavish celebration to toast their union in style. At the second ceremony in San Francisco, Getty wore a custom-designed dress by John Galliano for Maison Margiela Haute Couture, embellished with broken mirrors to create a floral motif, along with a coordinating headdress and a 16-foot-long veil. The dress is rumored to cost $500,000. That ceremony was presided over by the then Speaker of the House of Representatives Congresswoman Nancy Pelosiand actors Anya-Taylor’s joy is a bridesmaid.
The couple reportedly had a prenuptial agreement to protect Getty’s assets.
An anonymous source told Page Six: “It’s clear that as a member of the Getty family, Ivy is very careful about legal entanglements.
On Getty’s Instagram, most photographic evidence of Engel appears to have been deleted, and the model hasn’t worn her sapphire and diamond engagement ring in a post since January.
An attorney representing Getty did not immediately respond Vanity fairrequest for comment by.
