Nxtdigital, Thaicom Sign MoU for broadband satellite services in India


Hinduja Group Company Nxtdigital and Thaicom have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a strategic partnership to enter the market of satellite broadband and related services in India.

The agreement envisages a partnership covering the deployment of capacity-based broadband systems via satellite (BoS) with a focus on India. The BoS system can be enhanced to provide additional capacity on the software-defined high-throughput satellite, augmenting the existing IPSTAR-1 – the world’s first broadband satellite already in operation at India in the past few years.

The agreement includes a discussion of possible cooperation in NDL’s broadband subsidiary – OneOTT Intertainment Limited (OIL) – which is India’s fourth-largest private internet service provider with over 1 million customers. products and is present in more than 150 cities and towns, according to a joint statement by the two companies.

The details of the partnership elements are being discussed and will be documented in the final agreement between Thaicom and NDLthe statement said.
