Not UN/COP Poverty – Increase by that?

By Robert Bradley Jr. – May 2, 2022

“When people driving Teslas tell Africa to turn away from hydrocarbons – it’s immoral, it’s wrong.” [Erik] Prince said. “We’re really energy-poor across the continent.” (quoted on Bloomberg Green, 11/11/2021)

Oil, gas and coal are sources of energy for the masses; wind, solar (grid-connected) and battery/electric car for the elite. This topic, while old, is more relevant than ever to the failures of “green” energy policy in the fossil fuel world. Paul Driessen emphasized it in his neglected book, Eco-imperialism: Green Power, Black Death (Merril Press, 2010). Vijay Jayaraj today emphasized that in “Climate colonists break water pipelines in Africa, perpetuating poverty. ”

So is completely lost at Get hotwhere Mary Heglar titled a recent work, “It’s not climate denial, it’s white supremacy. “But perhaps Phi did not consider her.

Recently, NJ Ayukexecutive chairman of Africa Chamber of Energyprovide a rejected to the United Nations climate lobby by revisiting the debate at Africa Energy Week 2021, covered (in fairness) by a Bloomberg Green editorial,”Ask Africa to leave oil in the sparks of the earth Debating fairness(November 11, 2021). His 335-word response has been reprinted in its entirety.

Blame the smart intellectuals, foreign aid, handouts and African elites/politicians for energy poverty. NOT an oil company. The business pays it taxes and royalties. They do not control governments.

Africans don’t hate Oil and Gas companies. We love oil and today we love gas even more because we know gas will give us the opportunity to industrialize. No country has ever been developed by wind and fancy blue hydrogen. Africans see Oil and Gas as the path to success and the solution to their problems. The demonization of oil and gas companies will not work.

It is wrong for intelligent intellectuals from rich countries to object to the work we do and to appear at every event I am invited to. I will never agree that Oil and Gas is bad for #Africa. Foreign Aid and Giving and Charity are bad. We are foolish enough to have to sign off on radical climate policies that will impoverish the next generation because of a contingency change from the Aid Foundation. Blame me if you want, we need to ask more of ourselves as Africans. Personal responsibility.

The idea that we will develop Africa with funding from rich countries is preposterous and pathological. You cannot treat people of any color and exempt them from the requirements of civilization – including work, free markets, standards of behavior, personal responsibility, fossil fuels, understanding know about finance and all the other basic stuff that intelligent intellectuals take for granted – without serious consequences for them and for society at large.

The legacy of the colonization argument of Africans and Western elites is not just an excuse for the inexcusable acts of African Elites/Politicians and their willing to sell political class. stand the poor for more foreign aid and their membership in fancy clubs in London.

In a larger sense, it is the avoidance of responsibility for the disastrous consequences of the prevailing social vision of our time that has created the fixation and political policies based on that vision, in over half a century.

The international climate crusade is failing. But alarmist sentiment is running high, and too many people are making a living for the wrong reason. But the hypocrisy that asks the poorest not to use the most affordable, reliable, and abundant sources of energy cannot be diminished.

NJ Ayuk and the Africa Energy Chamber hold the energy highlands. And they are playing some part in persuading the UN/COP to end the futile crusade against carbon dioxide (CO2), a greening agent for a more productive earth.
