Northern Farm Champion Almond Eye delivers second pony
North Farm has announced the birth of brilliant almond eyes second pony, a pony of many top level winners and Horse of the Year 2015 Maurice one of the top lights at Shadai Stallion station.
Almond Eye, daughter of Lord Kanaloa , has been no slouch on the track with nine classified/group 1 wins to her name during three stellar career seasons. She is the 2018 Japan Horse of the Year, the Fat 3-Year-Old Champion and has won the Fat Triple Crown. In 2019, she was the United Arab Emirates high-weight older mare and won the Japan Horse of the Year 2020 title and the Champion Elder Mare title.
Her prolific track record began with wins in Oka Sho-Japanese One Thousand Guineas (G1) and Yushun Himba-Japanese Oaks (G1), followed by Shuka Sho (G1) and her first success in the Japan Cup. (G1) November, all at the age of 3 years old. Next spring, she added Dubai Turf (G1) to her profile along with Tenno Sho Autumn (G1).

Her previous season, in 2020, saw her take over the Victoria Mile (G1) by four stages, the Tenno Sho Autumn, and then the second Japan Cup, defeating the hero Triple Crown streaks in process.
The 8-year-old Northern Horse crossbreed girl got her first foal last year, a pony from Shadai Stallion Farm’s epiphany . She is retired with an income of $17,608,586 and has been one of Japan’s superstars in recent years.
