No.1 smart electric vehicle in Malaysia – Launched in Q3 as planned, 20 DC chargers with Gentari, dedicated 3S hub, smart app


Some progress updates on smart. Work has been going on behind the scenes since Proton and the Smart Automotive Company formalize their partnership with the signing of a joint distribution agreement last August.

It says that the process of recruiting new senior agents across Peninsular Malaysia is underway, concentrating initial efforts in the northern, central and southern regions. The network will feature dedicated, specially designed smart spaces and smart 3S hubs to better serve owners.

Regarding the charging infrastructure, it says that the plans are drawn up for set up 20 DC chargers by 2023 with Gentari still on the right track. Under the partnership, Pro-Net will provide the charging site and power delivery facility while Gentari will be responsible for providing the charging infrastructure and operator-related solutions.

Still following those lines, the company added that it is also looking at expanding the range of charging solutions available to its customers. These include one-stop home charging solutions to increase the number of charging stations available nationwide by 2025. The company says its first charging station will be installed at Proton COE, while its stores Smart dealers will also have charging stations to serve the needs of smart owners.

In terms of product-related developments, the company revealed that it will redefine several aspects of electronics within the smart No. 1 limit for our market, in terms of remote control functions. remote and integrated infotainment system, completing this process before the car hits the market.
