NLE Choppa launches ‘Skate 4 Tire’ organization

NLE rapper Choppa is continuing to contribute to promoting peace and positivity through his actions. Now, the Memphis hybrid rapper is using his platform to support the grieving family of Tire Nichols.

NLE Choppa plans to launch Skate Foundation

According to TMZ, the Memphis hybrid artist is planning to set up a skating fund to support the Nichols family.

I still have my skateboard – the one I’m using for the rally, and even two days after the rally, I’m still skating. So sure, it’s a hobby that I’ve picked up. And every time I skate, I will remember him and I will always support him with that light and meaning…

Choppa went on to say that although Nichols passed away “negatively,” his death had a “positive spillover effect” on the world. And went on to share his platform launch plans.

I’m really in the middle – I want to start a fund, a charity, around “Skate For Tire” and I don’t just want to give the proceeds to Tire and his family [but] I want to give it to his son…

The 20-year-old is particularly interested in Nichols’ son.

I pray that when that child grows up, they will be able to distinguish between what is real and what is not. And what really is the return, is making sure that positive light is cast on that light.

Choppa went on to share his disdain for how the footage that was made public of Nichols’ brutal death was like “it’s Showtime, the stuff about fight nights.”

The fact that his death is broadcast at 6pm is like a Showtime, night fight, it brings so much discomfort to my soul, where every time something happens in our community where we lost our lives as Gods, we must only how we lost our lives – videos of it, the horrors of it… just so they could project everything that is contrary to love into our culture and community.

The rapper went on to say that he “dislikes it very much.” And that’s why he chose to skate.

We need to start acting in the sense of ‘What will love do?’ in situations. And to show how he lost his life having a four-year-old, and one day see that video, is deeply traumatic and unacceptable. There is nothing loving about it.

Choppa concluded by explaining that his skating in his spare time was to show what Nichols wanted to be remembered for and “see” about him and his life.

The rapper recently led a parade in tribute to Nichols

As The Shade Room previously reported, the 20-year-old recently took to the streets of Memphis, skateboard in hand, to pay tribute to Nichols and his memory.

Roommates, are you happy to see Choppa continue to use his platform in such a positive direction?
