There’s no shortage of ways to play older Nintendo games through emulators, but if you’re craving something different, the recently released Delta The iOS app has now officially added iPad support.

Compatibility was added via a new 1.6 update, which also introduced seamless switching between iPad and iPhone, improved DS performance, the ability to “insert” GBA games into dual DS slots, menu button gestures, and improvements to app save states.

In addition to the additions and improvements, version 1.6 also introduces Delta’s new permanent logo. The developers were forced to abandon the original logo after Adobe has threatened legal action. because of its supposed similarities to the Photoshop logo. The new logo isn’t dramatically different and is still a version of the Greek letter character for delta, but the overlapping of the lines should make it distinct enough to avoid Adobe’s wrath.

According to developer Riley Testut, Delta compatibility for Apple TV is also in the works, but there’s no word on a release date at the time of writing.

Delta includes support for NES, SNES, N64, and DS games. Switch support is predictably nowhere to be seen, but that’s probably for the best; Nintendo has recently been in a war over Switch emulators and has filed DMCAs all over the place to ensure their removal, further bolstering the idea that the Switch’s eventual successor could be fully backwards compatible.
