NFL All-Pro Team: How NFL head coaches vote for Sporting News’ lineup for 2021


There are many NFL All-Pro teams listed at the end of each NFL season. But it’s a little different as the NFL’s head coaches have full control over deciding who gets on the first-team squad, rather than writers or other media.

Sporting News continues the annual tradition of polling head coaches for their opinions on the best players in the league.

A lot of teams are on the All-Pro roster this year. The Cowboys lead all teams with four players. The 49ers, Browns, Packers, Colts, Chiefs, and Rams all have multiplayer involved.

Comprised of offensive, defensive and special teams, here are Sporting News NFL’s entire Pro Teams for 2021:

OFFENSE

QB: Aaron Rodgers, The Packer

Rodgers didn’t get the nod as MVP last season, losing to Patrick Mahomes. He is the best QB over the wire in 2021.

Rate of QB votes: 50%

RB: Jonathan Taylor, Colts and Joe Mixon, Bengals

Taylor unquestionably leads the way. Mixon’s scoring season and big script earned him his first nod.

RB Voting Rate: Taylor 60%, Mixon 30%

WR: Cooper Kupp, Rams and Davante Adams, The Packer

Kupp dominated as a three-crown winner (reception, yard, TD). Adams overtakes Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and others.

WR vote percentage: Kupp 70%, Adams 50%

TE: Travis Kelce, Head of Department

Kelce tried again, this time keeping a healthy George Kittle.

TE’s vote share: 50%

OT: Trent Williams, 49ers and Tristan Wirfs, Buccaneers

Williams is even more dominant on repeat this season. Wirfts up the board with a big breakout.

OT vote percentage: Williams 80%, Wirfs 40%

G: Zack Martin, Cowboys and Joel Bitonio, Browns

Martin received this nod to replace Quenton Nelson. Bitonio repeats for Cleveland.

Votes G: Martin 60%, Bitonio 40%

C: Jason Kelce, Eagle

Kelce joins his brother in repeating in comfortable fashion.

Rate of vote C: 40%

DEFENSE

DE: Myles Garrett, Browns and Nick Bosa, 49ers

Garrett was friended from another Bosa this season, as Nick replaced his brother Joey.

DE vote share: Garrett 60%, Bosa 70%

DT: Aaron Donald, Rams and Chris Jones, captains

Donald and Jones are still the great all-star dynamic duo here.

DT vote percentage: Donald 80%, Jones 40%

LB: TJ Watt, Steelworker; Darius Leonard, Colts; and Micah Parsons, Cowboys

Leonard repeated while Watt received the nod along with SN defensive player of the year. Parsons made it like a rookie.

LB Votes: Watt 50%, Leonard 60%, Parsons 60%

CB: Trevon Diggs, Cowboys and Jalen Ramsey, Rams

Diggs’ massive interception boom replaced Xavien Howard while Ramsey was re-entered.

CB vote share: Diggs 50%, Ramsey 50%

S: Derwin James, Chargers and Kevin Byard, Titans

James had a healthy season in Los Angeles, while Byard went on to play major plays in Tennessee.

S vote share: James 50%, Byard 40%

SPECIAL TEAM

K: Justin Tucker, Ravens

Tucker has returned to No. 1 after a quieter 2020.

Ratio of K votes: Tucker 50%

P: Bryan Anger, Cowboys

Anger beat out Raiders’ AJ Cole and other strong contenders.

Rate of votes P: Angry 50%

KR: Kene Nwangwu, the Viking

Nwangu left the special group as a reserve rookie.

KR Voting Rate: 40% Nwangwu

PR: Jakeem Grant, Bears

Grant had a great first season in Chicago, beating only Devin Duvernay of the Ravens.

Ratio of PR votes: Give 40%
