The club itself has tease supporters on social media with a post offering a glimpse of the shirt and the June 27 date.

The caption also features an emoji of a red rose which is the symbol of Lancashire, the county of which Manchester has historically been a part.

However, three days before that proposed launch date, Aitch arrived at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury. The 23-year-old, from the Manchester suburb of Moston, is an avid United fan.

During a break between songs in his studio, he spotted someone in the crowd wearing City of Manchester jersey and say to them: “You’re there, in the top team at Man City. You’re not going to like me after this.”

To the mixed cheers and boos, Aitch then produced a jersey with the name “Big Shell” and the number 40 on the back, and put it on.

The red jersey features black details like the collar, three Adidas stripes on the shoulders and one more stripe on the flanks. There’s also a subtle pattern of the aforementioned Lancashire red rose on the shirt.

Returning to the City fans in the crowd, he then added: “Security! Can we get him out, please? Man of the City, can we get him out? Can he go out?

“I was just joking! Don’t start walking towards him!”

Rolling StoneAitch’s verdict on Aitch’s set was “Manchester rap giants rule the Pyramids.” United fans will be hoping that the Manchester football giants wearing this kit will dominate the league. Premier League next season.
