New Auto Show ‘Tires’ Looks Like It’s Actually Legitimately Good?
We’re not entirely sure why, but TV shows about cars usually aren’t very good. Even if you ignore all the various reality shows of Yelling Goatee Man Garage, you should still look a great show that also happens to include some cool cars, like Breaking Bad, is more about watching a live show than a car show. Miss the first season of American cars? There’s a good reason it was canceled after two seasons. However, that could soon change when Tire premieres on Netflix.
As you can see in the trailer below, the show focuses on a character named Shane, played by comedian Shane Gillis and the extremely short-lived Saturday Night Live cast member, who works for his cousin. that. Will, played by Steve Gerben, has recently inherited his late father’s chain of auto repair shops and things are not going well. Can Will turn his failing business around or will Shane ruin everything?
It’s not exactly the most exciting premise, but it works. What’s much more important is the writing and acting. We won’t be able to say for sure until we get a chance to watch the six episodes that premiere tomorrow, but Netflix has also renewed it for a second season, so that’s another promising sign. American carsOn the other hand, it sure looks bad in the trailer.
It’s worth at least watching that trailer, and as long as you have Netflix it should be worth watching at least a few episodes. And maybe when the morning news rush is over tomorrow, Rory will let me watch an episode or two so I can tell you whether it was actually good or not. (Okay GREAT —RC)
