Hello everyone, I’m Kee Zhang from Hotta Studio. I’m super excited to introduce our brand new title, Neverness to Everness, to PlayStation players today!
Neverness to Everness (NTE for short) is an upcoming free-to-play urban supernatural open world game on PS5. You will take on the role of an Appraiser, embarking on an extraordinary supernatural adventure in the bustling metropolis of Hethereau.

Welcome to Hethereau, a city beyond the ordinary
You’ve probably played plenty of city games, but Neverness to Everness brings a Hethereau that’s both familiar and strange, yet incredibly real. In this open world, every moment is an adventure as you explore and inhabit this unique city.
In Hethereau, you’ll encounter TV-headed otters, skateboarders who paint the streets in the middle of the night, and a whole host of supernatural phenomena we call Anomalies. The origins of these paranormal phenomena are varied and unexplained. Encountering paranormal phenomena in Hethereau is as common as breathing—hopefully your first encounter won’t scare you.
Hethereau is also a living city.
Stores and businesses currently open: Complete business management system allows you to buy cars and real estate to enhance your urban life.
Dynamic NPC: The streets are filled with realistic pedestrians with realistic destinations and actions. Most NPCs follow traffic laws, but if you break the order, expect different reactions from them.
Genuine car: You can upgrade and drive them, cause chaos on the roads or participate in races.
Anomalies: light comedy with a bit of surprise
A great open world game needs a compelling story, and Neverness to Everness revolves around these anomalies.
As the main character, you will debut in this city full of abnormalities as an appraiser at the antique shop “Eibon”, starting an extraordinary daily life by neutralizing and restraining various abnormalities.
Seeing anomalies in the city is like hearing a dissonant note in a symphony—they stand out and provide rich exploration. We tell the story through episodic stories with a light touch of humor, aiming for vivid storytelling, nuance, and distinct characterisation. Our goal is to pique the player’s curiosity, maintain immersion, and foster a desire to continually explore.
Meet companions, fight supernatural abilities
As you explore this urban open world, you’ll meet companions with various supernatural abilities to help you navigate the events ahead. These abilities, known as Espers, are powers awakened in ordinary humans—some can use anti-gravity to scale tall buildings, unlocking new urban perspectives, while others can destroy the environment, adding to the immersive realism.
These abilities also shine in combat, creating “Esper Reactions” that are easy to master and make combat more enjoyable. With great Espers comes great responsibility – the safety of Hethereau depends on you and your companions.
Building Hethereau with cutting edge technology
Hethereau combines cutting-edge technology with the latest trends. To achieve the desired effect and make the city scenes more realistic, we used Unreal Engine 5 to build the city frame and took advantage of Nanite virtual geometry technology to greatly enhance the realism of the scene. We will also continue to optimize for the PlayStation platform to ensure an exceptional player experience.
Neverness to Everness has been in development for a while, and Hethereau has been built from the ground up. The city will continue to grow, with more residents and features added over time.
