Nauticam announces case for Canon EOS R6 Mark II

Nauticam revealed new housing give Canon EOS R6 Mark II. The original EOS R6 can also be supplied in a case with the addition of an adapter (“available on request”). This is despite the fact that for the EOS R6 II, Canon made the curious decision of moving the power switch to the right side of the camera and adding a new switch to toggle between stills and video in the position where the power switch used to be. In addition to the new, higher resolution 24.2MP sensor, the EOS R6 II also shoots 12fps continuous shooting with the mechanical shutter (40fps with the electronic shutter) and oversampled 4K/60p video recording gauge from the full width of the sensor.

The NA-R6II case offers very similar features to the NA-R6: integrated grip, ergonomic control position (right thumb stick for M-Fn and Rec with auxiliary lever for AF-ON), and the ability to accept both old EF lenses through the original RF lens adapter. Dual fiber optic baffles provide flash triggering via an optional manual LED trigger or an optional TTL flash trigger. Like all of Nauticam’s latest mirrorless camera cases, there’s a large bore M24 accessory port for connecting an Atomos Ninja V monitor/recorder via HDMI 2.0 for 4K/60p 4:2:2 video recording. 10-bit.

Now available at retailers like BackscatterThe NA-R6II has an MSRP of $4,042.

PRESS RELEASE

Introducing NA-R6II

CANON EOS R6 MARK II CAMERA

The Canon EOS R6 Mark II is one of the latest in Canon’s line of full-frame mirrorless cameras that has hit unprecedented demand. It features the same large 54mm diameter RF lens mount but the ability to have larger rear lens elements closer to the sensor enhances corner and outer edge sharpness.

The R6 Mark II uses an all-new 24MP CMOS sensor that increases resolution over its predecessor and also dramatically improves rolling shutter performance. It offers in-body image stabilization rated up to 8 stops of correction. The camera’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system uses 1053 AF points across the entire frame. It is also capable of recording 4K video up to 60p inside and 6K 60p outside.

The EOS R6 Mark II can also use the large line of EF-mount lenses via the Canon RF to EOS R Adapter.

NAUTICAM NA-R6II AUTOMATIC CASE FOR CANON EOS R6 MARK II

The NA-R6II underwater case aligns with Nauticam’s innovation efforts and it supports both the Canon EOS R6 and R6 Mark II. An adapter is required for the original R6 and will be supplied upon request. Like its predecessors, the NA-R6II gives shooters the ability to use both existing legacy EF lenses via an adapter in addition to their native RF optics. To support both legacy and original lenses, Nauticam has integrated the NA-R6II into the N120 port system. Canon’s EF to RF mount adapter can be attached to the camera prior to mounting in the case. When using the EOS R6 Mark II inside the case with the adapter and EF lenses supported, the port arrangement and extension ring will be the same as the similar setup on the Nauticam Canon N120 DSLR. With the ever-growing line of RF lenses, you can also keep an eye on Canon’s N120-specific RF port chart which is being updated and expanded with each new lens release. Please note that the Canon control ring and the Drop-in Filter EF to EOS R adapter in the case are not accessible.

Mission Control

Nauticam engineers are obsessed with helping underwater imagers have free access to all the necessary controls, with many within reach of ergonomic rubberized grips. This Mission Control philosophy applies to the NA-R6II, where the dual lever and auxiliary lever are located in the right hand grip. The dual lever on the front right activates the “M-Fn” and “Rec” buttons while the sub-stick on the rear right corresponds to the “AF-ON” button. Near the left handle is a thumbstick for “Playback” for easy image review.

The rubberized and large knurled control dials access the camera’s “main” and “sub” command dials. The two-stage trigger allows for smooth focusing and firing trigger. Additional buttons for “Menu”, “Focus point selection” and others are also easily accessible from the handle.

Activate the flash

Flash firing is achieved through either optional Flash Triggers, manual LED triggers (PN 26305) or TTL Flash Triggers (PN 26321 currently unavailable) using a fiber baffle integration with optional fiber optic cable for strobe triggering is supported. For flash control that does not support fiber flash triggering, a variety of legacy hotshoe flash control baffles are available.

INTEGRATED VACUUM TESTING AND CHEAP Detecting SYSTEM

The Nauticam leak detection and vacuum test electronics are shipped with the NA-R6II as standard equipment. In combination with the accessory M16 vacuum valve (25625), this monitoring system provides continuously updated information on the watertightness and safety of diving of the housing. A simple color-coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is a solid or that the shell is losing its vacuum. Leak detection is integrated in the same circuit, so if there is water ingress, an audible and visual indication will appear.

The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms due to changes in the outside temperature or from the camera heating up during high-action diving.
