In 2017 one psychiatrist, Dr Ken Ung, mentioned that Nagaenthran suffered from a gentle mental incapacity, consideration deficit hyperactivity dysfunction and a consuming dysfunction – all of which might have “considerably affected his judgement [and] choice making”. In cross examination, Dr Ung appeared to contradict himself and mentioned Nagaenthran might as a substitute be affected by borderline mental functioning.
