‘My life just started to fall apart’: Are British media Muslim?
Wajed Iqbal was accused by the Mail of Sunday in 2017 as a “fixer” with links to the Rochdale grooming gang.
He sued for defamation and won £180,000 in damages. The Associated Press, the publisher of Sunday’s Mail, apologized in court and agreed that the allegations were untrue.
His case was cited in the Muslim Council of Britain’s annual report on Islam’s media coverage. He spoke with BBC News religious journalist Harry Farley.
