Moulton Owners/Raders Support Lexington Park’s Effort
Owner/raider Susan Moulton helped bring the planned Lexington park one step closer to reality with a gift that also honors her son Will’s legacy.
Town Branch Park has announced that the Will (Naylor) Smith Foundation will donate $2 million to the park. The water play area will be named after Moulton’s son, Will Naylor Smith, who died 16 years ago at the age of 8 in a car accident.
A release from Town Branch Park notes that Moulton, who for the past five years has split his time between San Antonio and a horse ranch near Versailles, Ky., wants to be more involved in the Lexington community—especially with children. em.
“I like the location of the park,” Moulton said. “Families and visitors will have access to a large park in central Lexington. I was drawn to the water feature because Will loves water and the outdoors. You never get over the loss. of a child, but you’ll get through it by taking them with you.
“I believe water can heal. I hope people will go there and feel relaxed and at ease. Children will be able to play and learn while playing.”
Moulton made headlines on the track last year with class 2 winners Manny Wah and purebred And the winner is . Headley Bell of Mill Ridge Ranch said the donation will make a lasting impression.
