Most Democrats want someone other than the President Joe Biden become their party’s candidate for the White House in 2024, according to a new poll.

While that finding is likely bad news for the 79-year-old incumbent’s re-election hopes, the poll has even worse news for Biden when it comes to younger Democratic voters and about how all voters see the direction of the country.
A whopping 94% of Democrats under the age of 30 said they would like someone other than Biden to be their candidate, the survey found.
President’s age and work performance were the top reasons cited by Democratic respondents as to why they would want a candidate other than Biden to be the party’s candidate. Thirty-three percent said Biden’s age, while 32 percent said they were dissatisfied with the job he did while in the White House.
Only 13% of voters of all types said the United States was “on the right track,” while 77% said they were “on the wrong track.”
But there is a bright spot for Biden.
Biden will probably beat the former President Donald Trump again in the next election if it is held today, according to the survey. Trump has strongly suggested He will run for the White House for the third time in 2024.
The poll found that 44% of registered voters polled said they would vote for Biden, compared with 41% who said they would support Trump.The Republican Party He Beats In 2020.
The Times/Siena survey was conducted Tuesday through Thursday, and asked 849 voters. It has an error of 4.1 percentage points.
The poll comes nearly 18 months after Biden’s first term in the White House.
Gallup on Monday released a new poll that shows just 33% of respondents believe Biden deserves to be re-elected, while 67% say he doesn’t deserve a second term. That’s 4 percentage points lower than the level of re-election support Trump saw in an April 2018 poll, which took place more than two years before he faced Biden.
The two polls also come less than four months before Congress’ midterm elections in early November.
Biden’s fellow Democrats have a 10-seat majority in the House of Representatives. The Democrats hold a majority majority in the Senate, where they have 48 seats and two independent members cast ballots with them. Vice President Kamala Harris’s power to disrupt votes in that chamber gives Democrats control despite the 50 Republicans holding the seat.
In the Times/Siena poll, the top issues voters believe the US is facing is the economy, which 20% of respondents identified as the most important issue, followed by “inflation” and cost of living”, 15% commented.
11% of respondents identified “democratic status” or “political divisions” as their top concern, while 10% said gun policy was the most important issue.
Abortion and women’s rights were considered the top concerns by 5% of respondents.
Supreme Court in a major ruling on June 24 said federally does not have abortion rights, reversing a nearly half-century-old position it made in Roe v. Wade. The final decision is expected to result in abortion being banned or more severely restricted than in the past in nearly half of all states in the United States.
