More Canon lenses in development
Canon has been actively filling up their RF mirrorless lens lineup, but there are still some options missing. It looks like the company will turn their attention to the next wide-angle options, with the four L-series professional primes likely to be released next year.
Canon rumor is Report that in addition to other upcoming lenses, Canon is planning to release four professional wide-angle prime lenses: RF 12mm f/1.8L USM, RF 24mm f/1.4L USM, RF 28mm f/1.4L USM and 35mm f/1.2L USM. Both the 24mm and 35mm lenses come as no surprise, as these are standard prime focal lengths and are represented in most professional lenses. 28mm is a more unusual smidgen, as the company has never produced an L option at that focal length for the EF mount. Meanwhile, 12mm would be the most unusual. The combination of such a wide focal length and maximum aperture in a full frame lens will be quite unique and will certainly generate some excitement, especially for landscape and nature photographers. Literature. I’ve been a big fan of mine Sigma 14mm f/1.8 Art for many years and would be quite curious to see such an aperture in an even wider lens. We’ll see what the next 12 months bring!
