A simple technique to make your photos stand out
When it comes to landscape photography, we talk a lot about how to make a photo “stand out,” but there’s a fine line between a striking photo and a flashy one. This great video tutorial will show you a simple and straightforward technique to add a bit of flair to landscape photos in an elegant yet effective way.
Coming to you from Anthony Morganti, this amazing video tutorial will show you how to add a highlight effect to a landscape photo. The idea is that in a photo with more than one color (for example, a blue sky or a lot of green grass), you want to bring out the nuances of the color a little more. To do this, you’ll use the HSL panel in Lightroom (or an editing app of your choice) and essentially increase the contrast between common colors and closely related colors. This way you will further accentuate the differences between subtle variations and create a more vivid overall effect. And the beauty of it is that it’s not simply increasing the saturation of the like, it’s a more targeted and subtle adjustment that makes it easier to maintain the natural aesthetic. Check out the video above for the full recap from Morganti.
