Monty, the UK’s most unwanted student, only gets abused and lives in a shelter

Monty, an eight-year-old black Lurcher mix, has spent all but a single year of his life as a resident of Last Chance Animal Rescue in Edenbridge. He has been taken over so many times and has spent so much time searching for a home that he has come to be known as one of the UK’s “Most Unwanted Dogs”. But maybe all of that could change if we had a chat with this handsome, cuddly dog.

Sadly, Monty’s life started out even worse than it does now. Poor Monty spent almost every moment of the first year of her life being crammed into a small cage. Due to the abuse of his first family, this sweet boy is now living his life day by day with a hunchback and major trust issues.

The people he loved and trusted the most betrayed him in the most horrible way. Because of this, Monty has now spent most of his life in shelters. Due to abuse, Monty had difficulty distinguishing between friend and foe – human or other animal.

“Monty has become very fond of staff and loves to be cared for and cuddled on the sofa, but of course this takes time and patience to achieve and we want to be frank about his hang-ups. that.”

Monty’s forever family will require a lot of love, patience, and a very special set of circumstances. Monty is a Lurcher or a cross between a dog (such as a greyhound) and a herding or hunting dog alike. They are known for being high-energy, cheerful and emotional. But Monty’s terrible abuse scares him at first, so his affections must be gained slowly through patience and trust.

He has high energy and loves to chase tennis balls, so there must be a backyard. Monty struggles with jealousy and do not want to share any attention with other people or animals. So a house with only one person, without any other animals, would work best.

“The reason we’ve had Monty with us for so long is that he’s not an easy dog but we’re sure there could be someone he could call his own and would love him for. what he was, a slightly spoiled rogue.”

Sweet Monty is looking for a one-man home with a yard, tons of tennis balls, and no other pets. Monty’s ideal self takes a lot of patience and even more love to give. Ideally, Furever’s home isn’t too far from his shelter, Last Chance Animal Rescue, as it will have to be visited several times before adoption. However, you are free to travel as far as you like if you are already too in love with Monty and want to give him a much needed happy and secure life. We believe there is a perfect person for this lovely Lurcher.
