Darby Dan Farm Ranked Multi-Stake Winner Modernist the son of Uncle Mo will stand strong during the Southern Hemisphere season at Haras Santa Olga Ranch in Santiago, Chile, the farm announced July 21. The deal was brokered by Matt Bowling of Bowling Bloodstock.
A cross between Martin and Pam Wygod coached by Bill Mott, the Modernist enjoyed his best season at age 3, winning the Risen Star Stakes presented by Lamarque Ford (G2) at Fair Grounds & Slots led in his share debut and then finished third in the Twinspires.com Louisiana Derby (G2). In 2021, he captures Excelsior Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct race track and runner-up in both the $100,000 Michelob Ultra Challenger Staking (G3) at Tampa Bay Downs and Pimlico Series (G3) bets at Racecourse Pimlico. He was retired with a 3-2-2 record in 11 starts and earned $576,300.

Modern joined the camp at Darby Dan this year for $10,000 and bred 141 mares.
