Survey shows that 1 in 3 couples have a dog at their wedding
A new survey recently released by Yappy.com has revealed that it is extremely common for young couples to make their pet dogs part of their wedding ceremony.
While this isn’t always so common, there’s a reason why so many pet parents want to include their precious puppies on their “special day.” Our dogs are not just pets; They are beloved members of the family.
Of course, you want to include the people you love most in your wedding. That’s the whole concept behind hosting a wedding reception in the first place. And for many of us are pet parents, including our dogs. They give us unconditional love and support no matter what we’re going through and regardless of our mood. Plus, they were excellent at cheering us on and providing humorous relief.
Factoring all of this into the equation, it makes perfect sense that recent surveys show that one in three couples choose to replace their groomsmen or bridesmaids with a male companion. their dog.
The survey also revealed that the top roles and responsibilities of their furry besties include:
- Being a ring bearer (58%)
- Bringing the bride down the aisle (34%)
- Attend your first dance (17%)
In the last year, a third of those surveyed shared that they attended a wedding where the knotted couple starred in the ceremony.
When it comes to the canine members of the wedding party, bandanas with adorable sayings are among the most popular choices. Others choose to tie their dog’s bow with the groomsmen or choose a hair bow that matches the bridesmaid’s dress. Some couples even choose to fully dress their furry family members.
if you to be hoping to have your furry best friend on your big day, it’s important to check if you’ve chosen a venue that welcomes four-legged guests or that factor in landing a place. But if you find that you’ve put down a deposit for a place that doesn’t welcome your dog’s companion, there are plenty of other worthwhile ways to include puppies at your wedding.
You can:
- Schedule a photo shoot including your loved one
- Include them in the invitation
- Put them on the cake
- Honor them with your support
- Include their faces as an accessory to your outfit
Or you can always choose to combine all of the above!
