Mitsubishi Colt 2023 revived in Europe – based on Renault Clio; Engine 1.6L hybrid, 1.0L NA and turbo
The Mitsubishi Colt was revived in Europe as a new hatchback based on the Renault Clio fifth generation. Following in the footsteps of ASX introduced last September, the Clio is built on the CMF-B platform also used by other members of the Alliance, namely Nissan and Renault.
The Colt’s resemblance to the Clio is undeniable, but Mitsubishi has applied its own stylistic touches to create some differences. For starters, the grille and headlights are more expressive on the Clio, while the revised taillights at the rear are combined with the word Mitsubishi on the tailgate just above the model badge.
Inside, you’ll find the same dashboard layout with a 7-inch or 9.3-inch Multi-Sense touchscreen infotainment system, both with Android Auto and Apple support. Wireless CarPlay. There’s also a 7-inch digital instrument cluster as standard, with an upgrade to a 10-inch unit available.
Other features include selectable driving modes (My Sense, Sport and Eco), along with ambient lighting, a premium sound system from Bose and a host of advanced safety features such as cruise control. Adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane departure warning, Easy Park Assist, automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.
As for the powertrain, the Colt is equipped with a hybrid system that includes a 1.6-liter engine, two electric motors (starter generator and main engine), an automatic transmission, and a 1.2 kWh battery that provides power. 143 PS (141 hp or 105 hp).
Customers also have the option of two pure internal combustion engines, including a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated three-cylinder making 67 PS (66 hp or 49 kW) and a turbocharged version with 91 PS (90 PS). horsepower or 67 kW). Both come with a manual transmission, with a five-speed manual geared to the front, while the rear gets six-speed forward.
