Michelin Guide adds 17 Singapore restaurants to Bib Gourmand . list

Michelin Guide added 17 food stalls and two restaurants in Singapore to its Bib Gourmand list this week.
In total, 79 city-state dining establishments are named on the list, up from 67 last year.
According to a company press release, the Bib Gourmand directory recognizes inexpensive dining establishments, selected by anonymous inspectors.
Two restaurants added to the list in 2023 are Kok Sen, which has been operating for more than 50 years and serves local dishes such as chicken with shrimp sauce; and The Coconut Club, which has a coconut-themed menu featuring the best-selling nasi lemak set, according to the press release.
17 food stalls, many of which serve a main course, including:
- Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon — sliced fish cake (rice vermicelli)
- Du Du Shou Shi — tu tu kueh (steamed rice cakes)
- Heng Kee — curry soup, tofu puffs and fish cakes made to order
- Ji De Lai Hainanese Chicken Rice — chicken rice set
- Kwee Heng — Boneless Braised Duck
- Nam Sing Hokkien Fried Mee — fried hokkien noodles (egg noodles) with shrimp
- No. 18 Zion Road Fried Kway Teow — kway teow noodles
- Singaporean Hokkien fried noodles — hokkien mee
- Soon Huat — “dry” or “soup” noodles
- Tai Seng Fish Soup — fish soup
- Young Chun Wan Ton Noodles — chewy egg noodles
At the Geylang Bahru Market and Food Center, the Hui Wei Chilli Ban Mee ribbon noodle stall, Spinach Soup and Cheok Kee were awarded. Michelin is famous for its soy-marinated duck.
According to Michelin, three other stalls in the Adam Food Center – Adam Rd Noo Cheng Big Shrimp Noodles, Bahrakath Lamb Soup and Selamat Datang Warong Pak Sapari, are known for their Malay noodle dishes.
The full list of Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore will be announced on June 27 at an awards ceremony.
