Overnight MG arrived Chinese social network weibo to preview the EXE181 concept car it will debut at the 2024 Beijing auto show this week.

Just like the 1950s EX181 Named after its name, the EXE181 achieves excellent speed and incredible acceleration thanks to its aerodynamic design.
Launched in 1957, the raindrop-shaped EX181 had an astonishing drag coefficient of just 0.12.
The 57-year-old car is not only smoother than today’s EXE181, its spiritual successor, which has a drag coefficient of 0.181, but also Mercedes-Benz EXXX 2022 concept (0.18).
The EX181 was revealed in 1957 equipped with a turbocharged 1.5 liter engine that produced 216kW (290 horsepower). A few years later, engine power increased very slightly and power was increased to 224kW (300 horsepower).
In the hands of Phil Hill, an American race car driver, the EX181 reached a top speed of 410.23 km/h, making it the fastest ever factory-produced MG and this title still stands. kept to this day.
Currently, there is very little detailed information about EXE181. For example, we don’t know specifics about the powertrain, its total power output, its range, or its top speed.
MG says the EXE181 is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 1.91 seconds and the car will “challenge” the land speed record. It is unclear when and where this will be done or what record the company is aiming for.
From the images we can see that the EXE181 is a teardrop-shaped single-seat car with a long tail. Hidden somewhere under the car’s body are two parachutes to help slow the car down.
In the snug cabin is a square steering wheel with screen and control buttons in the center. Images provided by MG show that the EXE181 has four electric motors, one for each wheel.
Hopefully MG will reveal more details about the car when it’s revealed in the flesh this weekend at the Beijing auto show.
