Mercedes-Benz almost ended the V8 drought in its lineup. Its agency Across the United States has resumed taking orders for most cars equipped with eight-cylinder engines, approximately six months after these models Temporarily shelvedalthough some are still not available.
Citing internal documents, Advocacy agency report that the V8 engine provides GLE 580GLE 63, GLE 63S, GLS 580, GLS 63, GLS 600G550 and G63 again available to order since February 22022. That means existing orders that have been placed and paused will be moved forward, and customers who order the 2021 model will be assigned a 2022 build location. Buyers who haven’t had a chance to order will now also be able to do so, although there’s no word on whether prices have risen since the last time these cars were available.
Not every member of the Mercedes-Benz lineup is getting the V8 back. The sedan and wagon variants of the E-Class and the two-door GT remains unavailable, according to the same report. An unverified report claims that production of most GT variants has ended, despite the successor (presumably V8 engine). right around the corner, so seeing it on this list is not surprising.
