AMG celebrate its 55th anniversary this year and the celebration is off to a good start with The strange Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series. However, not every fan of AMG has the space or use for a car you can’t drive on the street. And with just 55 examples Global, it is not easy to get accurate. Another car celebrates the performing arm of Mercedesthe Mercedes-AMG G 63 Version 55, fixes both of those problems.
This particular G 63 is defined primarily by modest appearance changes. It features black graphics on each side incorporating the AMG badge design. It also has forged 22-inch wheels and comes with an optional Night Package that usually adds black trim around the exterior. That exterior can be protected by the SUV’s included indoor car cover.
Inside, the car is wrapped in red and black Nappa leather, and the steering wheel is wrapped in imitation leather. The panel comes in a range of matte finishes carbon fiber cut. AMG and Edition 55-related badges abound on the steering wheel, floor mats and stainless steel sill.
Mercedes will be selling 55 of these G 63 Edition 55 units in the US, so US buyers will have a chance to buy a slightly better one than the GT Track Series. However, pricing is yet to be announced. It will likely be a bit more expensive than the base G 63. If that’s your price and you want one, you can order it later this year.
