MCE Holdings has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Multi-Code Electronics Industries, has signed a contract with Proton worth an estimated RM52.13 million to supply electronic and mechatronic components for its vehicles.
Under the 60-month project, MCE will supply components such as front reading lamps, rear reflectors and cup-holder assemblies for Proton vehicles, starting from the first quarter of the financial year ending July 31, 2026. The Proton model (or models) was not disclosed.
“Securing another project from Proton reflects the trust the company places in our design and manufacturing expertise. Winning this project through a competitive bidding process against prominent local and regional competitors demonstrates that MCE meets the high standards set by leading car manufacturers in terms of quality and cost-effective technology solutions,” said MCE Group CEO Goh Kar Chun.
“As we continue to enhance our offerings across the automotive electronics manufacturing value chain, we are on track to complete our new plant, MCE Auto Hub, by early 2025. This facility will further boost our capabilities in designing and developing more sophisticated electronic systems and components, enabling us to meet the growing demand for next-generation vehicles domestically and internationally,” he added.
According to the Bursa Malaysia-listed company’s filing, the company is involved in the engineering, design and manufacturing of automotive electronic and mechatronic components for the Malaysian and regional markets. The company, which has 350 employees and its main base in Johor Bahru, is expanding into ADAS, camera and infotainment systems.
