“I agree.”

Those two words appeared on a social media post by UFC star and (on one occasion) professional boxer Conor McGregor. Those two words were accompanied by a photo of McGregor and Mayweather fully engaged in their 2017 novelty super fight. While the post is rather vague, it still sparks fights around the world, as well as whispers that Team Mayweather and Team McGregor may be on their way to a second fight. Is Mayweather-McGregor 2 really on the horizon? This is 2022, most likely.

Mayweather retired from boxing in 2017 when he decided to return to the pro to fight McGregor, who at the time was the biggest mixed martial artist in the world. A boxing match that seemed like a fantasy then became a reality. Although McGregor walked out of the ring with his head held high, Mayweather finished off the Irishman in the tenth round after knocking out his man. However, that’s really not the story. The hype, the press tour, the speculation (many people really thought McGregor could win), and of course the money involved attracted even those in the media. official. The bout became the second most lucrative bout in history, just behind the Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao bout in 2015.

It’s hard to imagine a second Mayweather-McGregor fight being held near the premises of the first fight. Mayweather is in his forties, and McGregor is not the dominant UFC force he used to be. Time flies, even for stars the caliber of Mayweather and McGregor. However, there is little doubt that the rematch, if it goes down, will be financially successful. It’s easy to picture Mayweather, who now makes a lot of money participating in exhibitions, getting ready to duel McGregor again. As for McGregor, there’s that post. Plus, there’s this not-so-obvious quote he came up with recently Sports Sky: “Boxing was my first love in combat sports. I had such a great time the last time I was out there.” There’s also the fact that McGregor’s seemingly invincible days are now a thing of the past. Like it or not, this duel will mean a lot to both of them.

Maybe Joe Hewlett’s Yahoo Sports The best is: “Both men have something in common – they love making money, and if there’s enough interest, neither of them will turn down the opportunity.”
