Round 4 – Jerez
Marc Marquez underwent an overnight medical examination at Ruber Internacional Hospital after having successful surgery four weeks ago for a fracture in the joint of the first hand in his right hand.
Clinical and radiological progress was considered satisfactory, however, due to the nature of the fracture and the passage of time, the medical team, led by Dr. Roger de Oña along with Marquez, decided to continue Continue his recovery and preparation for the coming weeks and focus his possible return on the French GP, May 12-14.
Iker Lecuona from Team HRC in WorldSBK will replace Marc Marquez for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.

“Yesterday we did another CT scan and it was confirmed that, despite the fact that the injury was progressing well, the bones had not fully healed and racing in Jerez was very risky.
“Along with the medical team, we decided not to take the risk, waited another two weeks and returned to Le Mans.
“I regret to miss the Spanish Grand Prix because it is always special, because of the atmosphere, the race at home and above all to witness and enjoy the fans.
“I will continue to rehabilitate and work to get back as soon as possible. Thank you for your message of support!“
