Made in Abyss Season 2 to air in July 2022
Part 2 of Made in Abyss the anime adaptation will air in Japan starting July 2022. Kadokawa announced the release date of the upcoming season along with a new main visual featuring Riko, Nanachi, and Reg. The official website has also added newly released art for some of the characters that will appear in season 2. [Thanks, Natalie!]
The first season of the anime follows an orphan named Riko and a robotic relic named Reg. The official title of the second season is Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Burning Sun. In addition to the main characters of the previous season, the upcoming season will introduce a bunch of new characters. Some of these characters have also appeared in preview version.
The new main image shows Riko, Reg, and Nanachi as they go deeper into the iconic Abyss. Each character has somewhat updated their appearance compared to the previous season. The whole new one character art page and the main visual feature is Riko wearing a green jacket around her waist, instead of wearing a brown jacket.

Back in January, Cartoon added the first season of Made in Abyss into its formation along with Assassination Classroom. The first season originally aired in 2017, with two compilation films being released two years later in 2019.
Made in Abyss Season 2 will premiere in July 2022 in Japan. There is no confirmation for an English or international dub release. Made in Abyss part 1 is available to watch Amazon Prime Video and Swimming for Adults.
