LSU’s Harold Perkins has his own ‘Jordan flu game’ versus Arkansas
First-year student guardian Harold Perkins Jr.. got me a historic day in 7th place Tigers LSU‘ Win 13-10 via Arkansas Razor.
Perkins, a former five-star player, had eight tackles, four tackles and two catches on Saturday. He sealed the victory by stripping the Arkansas quarterback Cade Fortin and the scandal was restored by LSU’s Mekhi Wingo.
Harold Perkins. Again.

What makes the performance all the more impressive is that Perkins did it all while sick with the flu.
“He was sick before the game,” LSU coach Brian Kelly said afterward. “He threw up when we were taking our team meeting.”
Kelly called “Jordan Flu Game” when he spoke to Perkins on Saturday morning. In Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan, while ill and dehydrated, scored 38 points in 44 minutes to give Chicago bulls a series of 3-2 lead first Utah Jazz on the way to Chicago’s fifth NBA title.
“I said, ‘Hey, you know, MJ exploded when he had his best game,'” Kelly said.
“[Perkins] say, ‘Who is MJ?'”
While he may not be aware of his Qi, Perkins has placed himself on the elite team with his game against the Razorbacks.

There is nothing else to say about Harold Perkins. His performance was one of the best I have ever seen by a freshman. He wants this team to win today. pic.twitter.com/Q5GI0JtdaD

He set the LSU cover record in a single game with Chuck Wiley, who had four in a game in 1995. According to ESPN statistics and information, no LSU player has had three cons. and once forced to fumble in a game since 2004.
With four sacks and two mandatorys, Perkins is only the fourth FBS player to ever have that stat line, and the first to do so in a Power 5 game since Chase Young with Buckeye State of Ohio in 2019. Young’s performance came during the all-American teen season before becoming the #2 overall draft pick in the 2020 NFL draft.
Another reminder that Perkins is just a freshman.
