Live Updates: Russia’s War in Ukraine
In a letter to Ukrainian children, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed sympathy for what they had to go through under Russian aggression.
“In any other year, kids like you would spill out of your home and school to play with your friends, pursue football… to simply enjoy what is supposed to be. the only carefree period in your life. Of course, This is not another year,” Johnson wrote in his letter posted on Twitter in both English and Ukrainian.
“You should be incredibly proud. Proud of your country, parents, family and soldiers, and most of all proud of yourself,” Johnson wrote, praising them as role models “for children. children and adults everywhere.”
He went on to say, “You’re not alone. You may be separated from your friends at home, but you have millions of other people around the world.”
In the letter, Johnson mentioned visited Kyiv last monthmeeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
He concluded it and said that he believes Ukraine will win the war and that he hopes one day soon they will be able to return to their homes, schools and families.
Johnson has come under intense political pressure in recent months, becoming the first UK prime minister in history. violated the law of office as part of the “Partygate” scandal. His government is also grappling with a cost of living crisis.
