Leeds teachers give 1,400 children a place to sleep

A teacher in Leeds has provided beds for nearly 1,400 children in the city and says referrals are continuing to grow.

Bex Wilson founded the charity Zarach in 2017 after she realized that some of her students didn’t have beds to sleep in.

“Every postcode in Leeds is affected by bed poverty and we know it because we’ve delivered the beds there,” she said.

“It’s not true that in 2021, in the UK we have kids without a bed.”
