LeBron, Lakers with new look should be discussed among western lovers?
The Los Angeles Lakers had the biggest comeback of the season with a 111-108 victory over Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.
Now the question is, can there be optimism around purple and gold once again, now that their trading deadline moves have strengthened the lineup?
Skip Bayless express a number on the second volume of “Undisputed.”
“The cloud has been removed from your team,” Bayless told co-host Shannon Sharpe. “And I believe Rob Pelinka should run for CEO of the year because I like every little piece he picks up because they’re a big piece to the puzzle.”
Bayless asserts that the addition of Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley And Rui Hachimura gave the team a much-needed boost. However, he gauged his optimism by admitting, “If LeBron injured, then you’re done.”
Sharpe cited that exact issue as the reason he wasn’t as keen on the Lakers as Bayless.
“To me, he doesn’t look like the LeBron James we’ve seen playing from his birthday until he injured that foot. … That foot is clearly making him uncomfortable. There are some things he can’t do that he normally can, and he doesn’t play the same brand of basketball that we’ve seen from LeBron.
“As long as LeBron isn’t well, they’re not going anywhere”
Colin Cowherd probed the same issue in the Monday edition of “Herd.” He admits that the Lakers did a good job of addressing many of their thorny issues by the trade deadline, but Cowherd has yet to be sold in a deep post-season run.
Cowherd said: “The Lakers got a very nice coat of paint on their car during the trading term, but this puppy has done 286,000 miles.
