There’s never been a better time to get into CG. While the visual effects business is going downhill, the use cases and community have flourished. The NFT market became flooded with simulated 3D content last year, and Unreal Engine is revolutionizing the way scenes are rendered.
Since Blender is free, the community around it is full of talented hobbyists and enthusiastic beginners. Mostly, formal training is not a mathematical model. I have personally been able to get an idea of how Blender works by following this community over the years. Some of the images in my post were created with Blender, which saves me a lot of time when taking pictures.
Ian Hubert has been using Blender for about two decades. He even works with the Blender Foundation. For some, he made a name for himself with a stunning short film and its respective VFX Analysis. However, I wanted to share his “The Lazy Guide” series with readers. Sometimes it’s nice to follow a long and structured tutorial. Sometimes, a little instruction is enough to spark an idea in your head. Hubert’s tutorials have always inspired me.

When I ran After Effects classes in college, I had to get through the blocks of student creativity. No one wants to be told what every button does. It’s too formal and uninteresting. Instead, I ask them what they want to learn and bring them to it naturally. It will motivate people when they are doing something they really enjoy.
