Launch of the Audi Activesphere Concept EV; Futuristic car comes with mixed reality controls

Audi has just introduced its latest electric vehicle (EV) called Activesphere Concept. It’s a car that can transform into a pickup and is packed with futuristic tech including AR glasses and mixed reality controls.

German automaker Audi has unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV), a car that can transform into a pickup truck and comes packed with amazing futuristic technology. The Activesphere Concept is the fourth model in the company’s line of concept electric vehicles and follows the Skysphere, Urbanshpere and Grandsphere. The main highlights of the car are the augmented reality (AR) glasses and the mixed reality gesture-based control system that pulls up an invisible touchscreen right in front so you never have to look down when vehicle control. It also comes with a retractable steering wheel that can be removed when the driver wants to take the car out for a spin. Check out its features below.

Audi has announced that this will be the fourth and final time car will be launched in the concept EV line. The car displays a series of unique technological and mechanical features that will assist the driver in a comfortable and enjoyable journey. It is equipped with an 800-volt charging system that allows the car to travel more than 300 km after just 10 minutes of charging.

In terms of basic dimensions, the Audi Activesphere Concept is 4.98 meters long, 2.07 meters wide and 1.60 meters high. It uses 22-inch wheels and has a remarkable ground clearance of 208 mm. The company claims that the wheels provide superior traction both on the road and off-road. The vehicle’s height can also be raised when driving on the road.

The SUV can also transform into a pickup at the touch of a button. The rear of the vehicle opens up and a thick glass wall separates the rear from the front, allowing cargo to be accommodated. In addition, the active cargo bed can be further extended to accommodate larger equipment.

But the best part about the car is its dashboard. From the outside, you’ll see an empty and slim dashboard (which doubles as a soundbar and a vent), concealing a retractable steering wheel. But after you put on the AR glasses fitted on the car, the car transforms into a mixed reality wonder. You can see all the controls, including the navigation system, all mounted on the windshield, so you never have to look down to check directions. All smart features can also be accessed through the invisible control panel.
