There are expensive cameras, and then there are really expensive cameras. The Phase One XT camera system is certainly in the latter category, but with it you get highly specialized features and outstanding image quality. Coming to you from Simon Baxter, this exciting video takes you behind the scenes of landscape photography with the Phase One XT and IQ4 camera systems. The IQ4 back has a massive 53.4 x 40 mm sensor (significantly larger than most medium format sensors) that outputs 151 megapixels (14,204 x 10,652 pixels), 16-bit color, and 15-point dynamic range. stop. Meanwhile, XT pairing offers a compact package, 24mm increments and decelerations via self-locking rear movements (for perspective correction), automatic frame averaging for long exposures without the need for ND filters and noise reduction, as well as access to the Laboratory Program Stage One. Auto frame averaging is particularly neat because it preserves the highlights, in many ways making it more convenient and superior to using a regular ND filter.
