Lady Speightspeare wins Trillium, Shining Secret Reserve


Lady Spectrum ran full late in CA$158,200 Trillium Stakes (G3) on Aug 13 at Honeysuckle.

Offered as an even-coin choice in the 1/16-mile main track race for runners and mares ages 3 and up, the 4-year-old daughter of Sightstown fourth track after the prologue is: 24.12 and: 50.59 under Emma-Jayne Wilson as the Dreaming of Drew gave directions.

The ‘secret’ was revealed after taking a daring risk

Secret sanctuary showed up later than the pool for $181,100 Bold Venture Stakes (G3) on Saturday at the hands of jockey Eswan Flores, who scored his first Woodbine bet win.

Secret Sanctuary (#1) wins in Daring Venture Stake

“It’s a good feeling,” Flores said. “Mike and I talked before the race. We think there’s speed in the race, so we try to use that to our advantage, to perform well at the end.”
