Dog survives after family tries to bury it alive

As Olga Lystseva was driving along a highway in northern Russia, she noticed a dirty and sad German Shepherd on the side of the road. At first, she kept driving, she couldn’t stop thinking about him. So she turned around and drove 9 miles back to where she saw him.

Lystseva got some food for the dog and put it in the back of her car. During the entire 93-mile trip to Ukhta, 7-year-old Kiryusha slept soundly. Once there, Olga took the dog to a rescue organization called Kind City.

After the rescue shared poor photos of Kiryusha online, they received information that he was from the settlement of Yemva.

The owners declare Kiryusha to be “Unhealthy”

In the end, the rescue was able to identify Kiryusha’s original owner. Turns out it was them try to kill him with an injection in his feet. The dog was partially shaved where they injected him with what they thought was a lethal dose. Then they buried him in a remote place nearby Ukhta-Syktyvkar Expressway.

Quite a survivorKiryusha was miraculously able to dig herself out and wander to safety.

The unnamed couple apologized for their “mistake” and insisted that their dog was “unhealthy” and needed to be “put down”. I wish I could provide more justice-related details for this, but that’s all we know at this point.

By stopping her car, Olga gave him a chance

Fortunately, after the vet examined it, the dog’s worst health problems were due to starvation and exposure. Otherwise, he’s a healthy middle-aged guy. Furthermore, he doesn’t seem to hold any malice towards people after what happened to him.

Ekaterina Nimak represents the rescue in Russia, speak:

“In the bunker, he was very calm. It walks on a leash, doesn’t rush anywhere, rarely conflicts with other dogs and doesn’t bark.”

According to a local news report, Kiryusha is currently living with a foster family. Regardless of what some cruel people think, this dog still has many happy years ahead. Plus, his determination shows how strong he is. He literally back from the dead! Hope he soon finds a permanent family to really take care of him.

This is a tribute to people like Olga Lystseva, who have gone to great lengths to help dogs where others have failed. You never know when gut instinct will save a life.
