KY Derby Winner Always Dreamed of Standing at River Oaks

In a deal brokered by Chad Schumer, Always Dreaming is set to become the first of the top U.S. Classic winners to stand in Oklahoma. Always Dreaming is a third-seeded stallion and as of July 29 was ranked seventh in his breed class behind Align , good magic , Mendelssohn , City of light , Oscar Performance And Bolt of Oro He ranked first. Always Dreaming was one of the top 3-year-olds in the country in 2017. Broke his own record at Tampa Bay In January at age 3, he won the Florida Derby (G1) before winning the Kentucky Derby by 2 3/4 lengths. In the Derby, he defeated many top horses such as Gunnevera , Practical joke , Classic Empire And Girvin . He then went on to finish third in the Jim Dandy Stakes (G2) and second in the Gulfstream Park Hardacre Mile Stakes (G2). He retired with a 4-2-2 record in 11 starts and earnings of more than $2.4 million. Always Dreaming entered the stallion race at age 4 and won $5,000 this year.

Bred by Santa Rosa Partners, Always Dreaming is a racehorse with outstanding power. Beyond perfection who won seven of his 10 starts including the Las Flores Handicap (G3) and finished second in the Prioress Stakes (G1). He is also a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick (Dixie Union) and 2nd place winner Positive spirit (Pioneerof the Nile). Hot Dixie Chick is the mother of 1st place winner Pauline’s Pearl and the award winners are ranked Jackson Alliance . Indian Creek sold Positive Spirit to Spendthrift Farm for $1.5 million as a broodmare prospect at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton November Auction.
