Krombacher and Wacken Open Air present “Snarling Creatures” – the first metal band to include endangered animals

Krombach / Germany, August 1, 2022. What do gray seals, cuckoos, and lynxes have in common? They are all rare native European species whose survival is endangered, and they are part of the “Snarling Creatures” – the first group of metals to include endangered animals. Introduced by Krombacher and the legendary metal festival Wacken Open Air (W:O:A), this summer, the Roaring Creatures are drawing attention to their threat and are making noise in the world. species in danger of extinction.

Peter Lemm, Head of Communications at Krombacher Brewery, said: “With Krombacher, we have long been committed to national and international species protection projects. “As a new Wacken Open Air partner, it’s important to us to forge a genuine connection between our commitment to sustainability and sparkling entertainment. exactly this – as the new musical artists of the year, they deliver the best metal sound for good reason.”

Animal metal sounds
In their “Growling Creatures” mini-EP, the endangered lead vocalists not only showcase the vast extent of the situation at stake, but also bring diversity to metal music: For example: With “Nest Terminator,” endangered birds like the cuckoo and the great gray warbler perform a melodious death metal track, with tree frogs and wolves as guest vocals. On the other hand, the brown hare and lynx provide a real metal blaster called the “Furry Inferno”. And the female European bison and gray seal are not only the largest mammals in the Roaring Creature, but also represent endangered species in the home region of the Siegerland-based brewery and Waken Open Air Northern Germany. These two incredible performers come together in the perfect metal harmony for the song “Small Number Of The Beast”.

Special Guest: Growling Creatures at W:O:A
“The protection of species is important for our entire environment, not just for individual corners of nature,” explains Thomas Jensen, organizer of the W:O:A festival. “That’s why we at Wacken Open Air support The Roaring Creature and the causes behind it. Nature conservation and sustainability are also important topics for us as houses. organization, which also resonates within the metal community.”

Co-host Holger Hübner added: “A band of endangered animals – something that has never happened before. The idea alone works and the three songs are not to be missed. – in line with W:O:A. It’s remarkable how well the animals work in metal tracks.”

Of course, the Snarling Creatures will also be at Wacken Open Air from August 4 to 6. They’ll be adding to the lineup across all stages of W:O:A and will be seen at Krombacher Stammtisch, the festival module of the on-site brewery.
