Konami will hold NFT art and music auctions for Castlevania. The company opened a new Konami Memorial NFT website detailing the auctions, which is also available in English. It will hold simultaneous auctions worldwide from January 12 to January 14, 2022, based on the North American time zone.
The auction will include the main visual art of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, BGM, and videos from the first three main games released on the NES. Only one copy of each item will be available. In the Q&A section of the site, Konami notes that they won’t be selling the same NFTs in the future. The company will allow the resale and transfer of NFTs to other platforms, although it will not be responsible for such activities.
In November 2021, Konami released a statement express its interest on the NFT market. Upcoming Castlevania The NFT auctions will mark the company’s official entry. Konami is not the only major Japanese company interested in NFT. Square Enix and Sega also announced plans to enter the market.
Konami also announced that auctions will be part of the celebration CastlevaniaCelebrating 35 years, since the release of the first game in September 1986. During the anniversary month in September 2021, Konami released the game. Castlevania Advance Collection on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It then released a soundtrack collection of the series in December 2021.
