Kia’s biggest electric car is coming soon


that teased its upcoming exterior EV9 Large electric SUV ahead of its world debut at the end of March.

The Korean automaker has released several short videos and blurry images that show certain exterior elements of the production EV9.

Despite the mystery surrounding the design, we have seen prototype spy for a few months now and country.collector Recently published low-resolution image of a EV9 no camouflage on Instagram.

Kia revealed EV9 . concept coming in November 2021 has a boxy, upright styling with wild concept-like features including suicide doors and giant 22-inch wheels.

While the latter two features don’t appear to have carried over to the production EV9, the overall silhouette is very similar.

At the front, the EV9 gets a redesigned version of the “Digital Tiger Face” grille with LED headlights made up of pixel-like dots.

Around the side there are physical rearview mirrors, flat door handles and boxy wheel arches.

At the rear there are slim LED lights that almost span the entire length of the tailgate.

We haven’t seen any pictures of the interior of the production EV9 yet, but the concept features three rows of seats, a 27-inch infotainment screen and an unusual steering wheel with touch buttons.

As previously reported, the Kia EV9 is prepare to come to Australia at the end of 2023.

Kia Australia CEO Damien Meredith confirmed earlier this month that there are around 400 units allocated for the Australian market.

EV9 will be Kia’s second electric vehicle (EV) based on the Global Electric Modular Platform (E-GMP) following EV6 cross.

The E-GMP platform is also the foundation for Hyundai ioniq 5, ioniq 6And Genesis GV60.

Hyundai will launch its own version of EV9 based on Seven concepts revealed in 2021.

Concept EV9 measures 4930mm long, 2055mm wide and 1790mm high with a wheelbase of 3100mm.

For reference, it’s 50mm shorter, 80mm wider and 40mm taller than Hyundai Palisade Large SUV. Concept EV9 also has a wheelbase 200 mm longer than the Palisade, helping to maximize interior space.

Prices and power output have not been confirmed, but a market research survey sent to Kia owners and seen by Car hybrid hints that the EV9 will be offered with single- and dual-motor powertrains.

Five variants have been detailed, starting with a single-engine model delivering 149kW/339Nm and a claimed 0-96km/h time of 8.5 seconds; ranging from a dual-motor flagship with a range of 386km, 298kW and 651Nm, and the ability to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds.

Kia did not detail the powertrain specifications of the Concept EV9, but claims it has a range of up to 483km.

The concept can be quickly charged DC at up to 350 kW, which means it can be reduced by 10 to 80 percent in 20 to 30 minutes when connected to a suitable public charger.
