Route to explore remote areas | Ep. 58 Rider Magazine Insider Podcast
Our guests on Episode 58 of the Rider Magazine Insider Podcast are Inna Thorn, executive director of Backcountry Discovery Routes, and Tim James, chairman of the board of directors of BDR. Backcountry Discovery Routes is a non-profit organization that creates off-road trails for adventure motor travel and dual sport. BDR has introduced a new route with free GPS routes almost every year since 2010. We last spoke with Inna and Tim last year in Episode 33, Wyoming BDR just released. In 2023, the Oregon BDR was released, becoming the 12th full route, and each can be completed in about a week. Remote Area Discovery Routes have also released shorter BDR-X routes, which can be done in two to three days. Through the tireless work of its staff and many volunteers, Backcountry Discovery Routes maintains existing routes and continues to develop new ones. Future BDRs will include Southern California, Montana, and the Southeast. Visit the BDR website to learn more and support their efforts.
