Kia Carnival CKD 2022 car price in Malaysia leaked before launch – 7, 8 seater variants; from RM231k; ADAS, Bose
Just a few days ago, Kia’s dealer AZ Master Motor announced through a Facebook post that locally assembled version (CKD) of Kia Carnival was open for pre-order, even offering preliminary specs at the time.
Now, the same dealer has List price for MPValthough we still need to wait for official distributor Dinamikjaya Motors to confirm these numbers, this will only happen during the CKD Carnival launch that will take place soon.
As previously reported, the CKD Carnival will come in three variants and a price tag of RM231,228.80 on the go without insurance for the base 8-seat 2.2D version. Next is the 8-seat 2.2D high at RM247,228.80 and at the top is the 7-seat 2.2D high priced at RM261,228.80
These prices include sales and service tax (SST) and each purchase comes with a free service plan and a five-year/100,000 km warranty. The only option listed is for the V-Zion window color which costs an extra RM2,300 for all variants.
The starting price of the CKD Carnival is higher than the CBU version, which previously retailed at RM196,340.80 inclusive of 50% SCT. It should be noted that the CBU version comes with an 11-seat configuration which allows it to be classified as a commercial vehicle, hence it has a lower tax rate.
In terms of equipment changes from CBU to CKD, the second version will have a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster instead of a 4.2-inch multi-information display, although this is only for the High variants. . The rear taillights have LEDs instead of the bulbs on the CKD car, while the audio is upgraded to a 12-speaker Bose system from the normal six-speaker setup in the CBU.
Seating configurations for the eight-seat variants include a multi-function, sliding-adjustable second row seat, while the third bench has a 60:40 layout. The upholstery for both variants is faux leather, just like on the CBU model.
8-Seater High improves on its Mid brother by adding a set of accessories such as a dual sunroof, LED interior lighting, heated and ventilated front seats as well as a memory function for the adjustable driver’s seat. electricity. For the 7-seat top version, it has leather seats and the variant also has center aisle for the Premium second row.
The biggest benefit to the CKD Festival on both High variants is the addition of ADAS, which is not found on the 11-seat CBU – Mid also misses it. Driver assistance kit includes automatic emergency braking (FCA) with turn detection, intelligent cruise control (SCC) blind spot collision avoidance assist (BCA), traffic collision avoidance assist rear (RCCA), lane following assist (LFA), lane keep assist (LKA), driver attention warning (DAW) and high beam assist (HBA).
Under the bonnet, CKD Carnival should retain the Smartstream R 2.2 VGT diesel engine as on the CBU version. The oil-burning engine produces 199 hp at 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 2,750 rpm, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, driving the front wheels.
