The next generation Honda Breeze arrives in China – the brother of the sixth generation CR-V with a different exterior; Q4 launch

What you’re looking at here is the next-generation Honda Breeze, which is essentially a revamped version of the sixth-generation CR-V. launched in the US last month. Expected to go on sale in China in the fourth quarter of this year, the Breeze is marketed by GAC Honda (aka Guangqi Honda or Guangzhou Honda) – a joint venture between GAC Group and Honda Motor Company.

China will also get the regular CR-V through Dongfeng Honda, another Honda joint venture in the country. We did saw the photo of that model in the picture posted by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) in May, before the SUV’s full debut.

Visually, the Breeze distinguishes itself from the latest CR-V by its unique front end, which features a smaller grille flanked by slim headlights. Below that is the Honda logo and a large, frameless, C-shaped air intake at the bottom whose contour extends down the sides of the vehicle to the rear bumper – a sign also seen on the rear bumper. Current generation Breeze.

At the rear, we noticed that the horizontal taillights don’t climb up the sides of the rear window like on the CR-V. There’s also a black trim piece linking the clusters, with the Honda badging placed slightly lower. Similarly, the number plate recess is deeper, while the reflectors are vertically aligned and connected by a prominent exhaust finisher.

According to Chinese media, the Breeze has the same width (1,866 mm), height (1,691 mm) and wheelbase (2,700 mm) with the CR-V, but is 22 mm longer at 4,716 mm due to the new bumper. We didn’t get any interior shots but expect it to be largely the same as its sibling.

This special unit with the “240 Turbo” badge is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 193 PS (190 hp), according to the report. Drive is sent via a CVT to either the front wheels or all wheels, depending on the variant. Plug-in hybrid power is also provided for model goso it’s probably safe to assume the new one will get it too.
